Scalp Micropigmentation

Hair loss makes one of the most difficult problems that some people must face. The problem of excessive hair loss affects individuals of all ages, both women and men, although the latter ones are more prone to that problem.

Factors causing that problem include some diseases, a low-nutrient diet, stress, as well as genetic predispositions. All those people face the challenge of finding an effective and natural-looking way to cover the problem.

What makes one of the methods to camouflage up the baldness process is scalp micropigmentation. The method helps women and men who struggle with the problem of hair loss. Micropigmentation is a safe, non-surgical, procedure to cover the problem of baldness and hide scars. In it, special bioabsorbable pigments are introduced shallowly under the skin, which creates an imitation of a short haircut. Micropigmentation also helps to cover effectively birthmarks, burns, or scars after a hair transplant.

Micropigmentation is an alternative for people who have already tried to hide some hair loss on their heads, not obtained satisfactory results and, at the same time, do not want a hair transplant.

Scalp Micropigmentation: Who For?

The treatment is recommended in the case of a total hair loss, hair thinning, spot baldness, and to camouflage scars on the head. It is mainly used by men, particularly those who like short haircuts. Women may also take advantage of that method: For them, special pigments are selected to achieve the most natural effect of hair thickening.
Micropigmentation is dedicated to people suffering from total, plaque, androgenetic, or scarring types of baldness. It will also camouflage the problem in people with a telogen or anagen hair loss. Summing it up: the procedure can be used for any type of balding both in men and women.
It makes an ideal method for all the people struggling with the problem of hair loss - active professionals, sportspeople, etc.

Which areas can be covered by micropigmentation?

The most common ones include:
- bends,
- head top,
- the whole scalp.

What should I start with if I think about scalp micropigmentation?

A consultation makes the first step. It provides and discusses all the information and details about the procedure. The date of the procedure is scheduled, during which the hairline is decided at first and then an appropriate pigment colour is selected.

What is the procedure?

Micropigmentation is covering the scalp with thousands of points that resemble natural hair bulbs. Those points are made of natural pigment in several shades that is introduced into the skin and creates the illusion of a short haircut.

1What is recommended before the procedure?
Sunbathing should be avoided for four weeks prior to the procedure.

Women and men should remember that they must wash their heads before the procedure. Men must also remember to cut their hair 0.3 mm short. Keeping that hair length after the procedure makes it possible to obtain a natural effect.
2How long does it take to obtain the final result?
Three sessions are scheduled for the full micropigmentation procedure: each from 3 to 6 hours long in four-week intervals.
3When the first effects may be seen?
Some visible effects may be noticed after the first session.
4What is recommended after the procedure?
For two weeks, sunbeds, swimming pools, saunas, gyms, or jogging should be avoided as they result in heavy perspiration. Also, direct sun should be avoided for four weeks. The pigmented areas are particularly sensitive, so they should be moisturized and treated appropriately. It is advisable to apply a special cream for speeding up skin regeneration.
5Is the post-micropigmentation look natural?
What makes the advantage of the micropigmentation method is that it preserves a natural look. Using pigments in several shades results in the illusion of hair bulbs. The procedure makes people look more attractive: rebuilding and giving a natural shape to the hairline them look several years younger.
6May the procedure be harmful to hair?
A properly done procedure does not harm growing hair. Moreover, the needle often stimulates the hair to grow better.
7How long does the pigment last in the scalp?
The pigment in the scalp may be preserved from two up to five years depending on individual reactions of the skin to pigments and its ability to maintain the pigments within the epidermis.
Factors that affect the durability of the procedure:
- age,
- epidermis regeneration time,
- skin type (thick, thin, greasy, dry),
- skin phototype,
- exposure to sunlight or sunbeds,
- taking medicines, steroid ointments, etc.
8Why is it good that scalp micropigmentation is not for life?
As the pigment is bio-absorbable, it does not change colour within the skin but simply disappears. The baldness process deepens in time, which may require additional pigmentation. As the pigment vanishes in the same way everywhere in the scalp, the effect is identical even after some time. It should also be remembered that hair colours change over time, which entails a change in the pigment shade so that the effect always looked natural.
